Jessica is originally from New Jersey, the pizza and bagel capital of the U.S. She later moved to California to get her bachelor’s degree in Engineering at Harvey Mudd College. During this time, she worked on aerospace design projects and interned at Raytheon in Los Angeles, where she continued to work full time as a Thermal Engineer for a year after graduating.

Jessica came to UBC for her M.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, which she hopes will be the first step in her goal of improving engineering education and advancing the field through research. Her current work in the Renewable Resources Lab involves the exploration of an interferometric measurement technique for biospeckle laser analysis.

In her free time, Jessica loves traveling, hiking, trying new foods, and playing board games with friends. She’s excited to explore British Columbia and to try plenty of new activities here!
