Patrick is from Huzhou, China. He completed his undergraduate study at Ningbo University, China, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. In his senior year, Patrick earned a chance from the China Scholarship Council to study at the University of California, San Diego for a one-year exchange program. During his undergrad, Patrick had some experience on research in the University’s vibration laboratory. Also, he had a summer internship at the Zhejiang Kingland Pipeline and Technologies Ltd, designing the technological processes for the Submerged Arc Welded steel pipes.
Due to his passion to Mechanical Engineering, Patrick is very exited to be in UBC and looking forward to having more in-depth study in a specific area, and contributing to the Renewable Resources Laboratory.
Patrick loves exploring new things and challenging himself. As an old Chinese saying goes: “It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books”. He thinks that is one of the reasons why he is here at UBC.
