Conan OmoriM.A.Sc. Student Department of Mechanical Engineering |
Conan is from the sunny beaches of Sydney, Australia. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Sydney. During his undergraduate, Conan worked on many projects as a part of Formula Student, including flexible coupling joints, and hollow aluminium driveshafts.
Conan’s current work is X-Ray scanning for the forestry industry and determining more efficient methods for inferring knot locations.
In his spare time, he likes to run, cycle, spend time working with UBC Rocket, and probably playing too many video games.
Conan reached the finals of the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition held in April 2020 at UBC. He was the only MASc student to make it to the final group, all others were PhDs. Conan is featured in UBC’s Meet Our Students, which also includes a link to his 3MT talk. Congratulations Conan !
