Juuso is from a small town Siilinjärvi, located in Eastern Finland. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Applied Physics from Tampere University of Technology, Finland.
Before coming to UBC, Juuso spent a year as an exchange student in Loughborough University, England, where he was introduced to the fascinating world of optical metrology. Juuso is visiting UBC in order to work on his Master’s thesis project at Renewable Resources Laboratory. Alongside his studies, Juuso has worked as a Research Assistant in Optoelectronics Research Centre in Tampere, focusing on the development of semiconductor disk lasers and dielectric coatings for mid-infrared range.
Juuso’s free-time activities include running, cycling and cross-country skiing. While at UBC, he aims to explore and make the most of the beautiful campus, amazing city of Vancouver and the surrounding British Columbia.
